General Usage:
Creative Kids Giant Paint Me Sets are a fun way to introduce kids to painting. The set includes 3 brushes, 6 tubes of acrylic paint, a pre-printed 30 x 60cm canvas and a bonus 25 x 30cm pre-printed canvas panel.
The finished image on the front offers a suggested colour scheme to follow but we encourage kids to explore colour mixing and to use their imagination to creat a unique piece of art.
A basic colour mixing chart shows how to mix secondary colours, (orange, purple and green) from primary colours (red, blue and yellow). The ratio of each colour added will vary the final colour achieved. e.g. to create light green add a lot of yellow and a little bit of blue. For dark green add a lot of blue and a little bit of yellow. For pastel colours add a little bit of white to the colour. To darken colours add a little black. To mix an orange add yellow and red. Mixing red and blue make purple. Try experimenting with different ratios to see what colours you can create. White to lighten and black to darken.
Before you start painting, cover your work area with newspaper as acrylic paint may stain clothing and furnishings. It's also a good idea to put on a Creative Kids Painting Smock or Creative Kids Sleeve Protectors to avoid staining clothes. A big jar of water may also be handy to wash brushes while you are painting. Mont Marte Plastic Palettes are ideal for mixing paint in. Acrylic may be thinned with a little bit of water to help the paint flow. Clean up brushes and equipment with soapy water.
